Hey y’all

Today I’ll briefly mention:

My First Time at BD|NY

Most of y’all know by now that I majored in Architecture in college and am currently interning at a small interior design firm. Because of this, I got the chance to go to this year’s BD|NY (which stands for Boutique Design New York) for free!

It was held at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in NYC (as per usual) which I had never even been to despite having lived in NY my entire life.

I got to see companies showcase their products for the Hospitality environment like Tri|Kes, Duralee, Robert Allen, Tile Bar, etc. The setups were spectacular, from the fabric displays to the lighting displays I was in awe at all times.

By the end of it I was super exhausted but I had enjoyed myself a lot. Many goody bags were handed out & y’all know me, I love me some free s***

Below are some pics of my day…

Hey y’all

Today I’ll briefly mention:

MY UNDERGRAD GRAD PARTY

As some of y’all may know I recently graduated college with a Bachelor’s in Architectural Technology (which was hard as f*** but not impossible)

In honor of the fact that I’m attending a friend’s college grad party today (shoutout to Caitlyn ’cause she did that!) and that I’m basically the last one of my siblings that was left to graduate (since two of my brother’s had already graduated and I couldn’t be the one to disappoint) my family threw me a surprise Graduation Party!

I don’t know HOW they did it, but absolutely everyone I care about was there and no one said a word about it (in order for the surprise not to be ruined) so I was super flabbergasted.

First, Silvany tricked me into spending the entire day with her (which I was happy to do since we agreed to go on a Paint & Wine Night even though it was hella early like 3 PM)

While we’re there, Natasha appears out of nowhere all the way from Albany to the city just for lil old me how cute (I will get her back for that cause I almost thought I had drank too much)

After we we’re done with our paintings we went to Silvany’s house (and Nadiana later joined us) to continue to drink wine and have a fun night (or so I thought, but really they were all just stalling while everyone got things ready for the event back home)

When I finally made it home, I was greeted by a bunch of people who’d witnessed the struggle that college was for me and I’m not gonna lie I teared a lil bit (I’m lying I cried my a** off)

BTW: Special shoutouts to my mom, my sister-in-law Stephanie and my bestfriend Natasha for going out their way and throwing me this lavish poppin’ a** party! I didn’t see it coming but I absolutely enjoyed it and it wouldn’t have been the same without y’all!

Here are a couple pictures from that epic night…

Hey y’all

Today I’ll briefly mention:

The MET

Met Museum by Simon Fieldhouse

Open Hours

Sunday–Thursday: 10 AM–5:30 PM
Friday and Saturday: 10 AM–9 PM

How To Get There:

Walking to 1000 5th Ave, NY, NY 10028

Driving to 1000 5th Ave, NY, NY 10028

Buses M1, M2, M3, M4, M79, M86, SBS

Trains 4, 5, 6 to 86th St Station

I actually went to the Metropolitan Museum of Art on a college assignment back in 2016. At first I wasn’t really into it, (’cause I wasn’t really into doing HW in such a beautiful spot) but then I stepped inside and was awed.

First off, their freaking outdoor fountains rise and fall in sync like where they do that at! (Only in Vegas probably near them fancy hotels)

Then, getting in is free so that’s a plus! (They actually suggest you give a donation so if you have a couple dollars or some change you should be good)

The good thing is that they’re open everyday so you can go on your lunch break (if you work near) or on your off days (if you’re not too tired from slaving) so there’s no excuse to not see this beautiful beaux-arts historic landmark.

Then they have a bunch of different exhibits that you probably wont get to in a day, but that can serve as your excuse to go back! (Plus this is where the MET Gala is held which is an event I cant get in to yet but I ain’t done yet so there’s still hope)

Going to the MET was one of the best museum experiences I’ve ever had because even when I was inside I felt like I was outside (in part because they use a lot of skylight in their massive open areas)

BTW: Here’s a guide to the first floor as well as a couple pics of me the last time I visited.

Hey y’all

Today I’ll briefly mention:

Sight Seeing in NYC

Some of you may not know but I studied architectural technology in college and I’m pretty much obsessed with structures and how they can enhance human life and be beautiful at the same time.

Because of this, I’m going to start recommending sites for y’all to go visit in NYC (since I’ve lived here forever)

I’ll also take dope pics to post on here that way you can get a sense of where you’re going before you venture out.

So stay tuned for tomorrow’s post ’cause you never know what I’ll recommend for y’all to check out first!

BTW: Feel free to hit me up with suggestions or questions or anything at all in the comments

AND

Today’s Sunday so if you watch Game of ThronesInsecure, or Power you’re going to be in for a treat!
