Hey y’all

Today I’ll briefly mention:

My Top 5 Favorite Movies

Note: I don’t own the images and the following titles aren’t listed in any type of order preference.

1. The Dark Knight (2008)

Christopher Nolan did a stupendous job directing, & he also co-produced, & co-wrote it. Heath Ledger’s performance as The Joker was greatness personified.

2. Rear Window (1954)

Alfred Hitchcock (who also did Psycho) did a marvelous job directing this mystery thriller especially by setting the tone or the way you’re supposed to feel based on the music you hear in the background. It was based on a short story titled It Had To Be Murder by Cornell Woolrich. Grace Kelly (The Princess of Monaco) plays the love interest of the main character and she wears fabulous outfits for the movie. It has also been imitated many times (That 70’s Show-Season 3 Episode 4 titled ‘Too Old To Trick or Treat, Too Young To Die’ imitates this movie)

3. Identity Thief (2013)

Melissa McCarthy is hilarious in this film. I watched this movie so many times in a day and was consistently in tears all throughout because I couldn’t stop laughing.

4. A Clockwork Orange (1971)

Even though it was filmed back in the day, it’s still a movie that anyone can relate to especially the people from this generation. (The song that the main character plays while robbing a man’s house is from another throwback movie called Singin’ In the Rain. It’s a dystopian crime movie full of relatable topics followed by hilarious obnoxious objects that you wouldn’t think they would put in a movie back then. It was controversial back then but it’s our normal right now.

5. La La Land (2016)

I just saw this today and loved everything from the cinematography standpoint to the directing and even how the cameramen were able to move the camera so rapidly during scenes was outstanding to watch. That really helped the movie come together & it was overall a great love story storytelling.

BTW: I took a couple of film classes all throughout high school and college so I appreciate all the work that goes on making these films from the story adaptations to the costume designs and editing. Feel free to watch some of these movies on your days off or whenever you want to have a laugh and relieve some stress.

Hey y’all

Today I’ll briefly mention:

Being/Becoming Active

I’ve never been the most active in life but I do enjoy working out from time to time (I’m trying to make it a habit slowly but surely)

I recently started interning at an interior design firm so for the most part I’m always sitting down.

At first I thought this was the life! After all my years of slaving for retail and working constantly on my feet I was dumb hype.

But now that I work at an office I realize that being active is very important.

First off, being active gets the blood flowing!

Next, being active even gives you more energy. I go to the gym (although not religiously but I do try to get it in) and I always find myself with more energy after my workout than before it.

Last, but not least, being active makes you look and feel good!!! (I always feel like a million after a couple squats)

So why not start today?

Jam to your favorite artists and throw on your waist trainer real quick and get it in!

You don’t even have to go hard the first day, ’cause you can slowly work your way there so just do it (like Nike)

BTW: After work I’m definitely gonna hit the gym for a leg day session (leg days are the best days)

Hey y’all

Today I’ll briefly mention:

MY UNDERGRAD GRAD PARTY

As some of y’all may know I recently graduated college with a Bachelor’s in Architectural Technology (which was hard as f*** but not impossible)

In honor of the fact that I’m attending a friend’s college grad party today (shoutout to Caitlyn ’cause she did that!) and that I’m basically the last one of my siblings that was left to graduate (since two of my brother’s had already graduated and I couldn’t be the one to disappoint) my family threw me a surprise Graduation Party!

I don’t know HOW they did it, but absolutely everyone I care about was there and no one said a word about it (in order for the surprise not to be ruined) so I was super flabbergasted.

First, Silvany tricked me into spending the entire day with her (which I was happy to do since we agreed to go on a Paint & Wine Night even though it was hella early like 3 PM)

While we’re there, Natasha appears out of nowhere all the way from Albany to the city just for lil old me how cute (I will get her back for that cause I almost thought I had drank too much)

After we we’re done with our paintings we went to Silvany’s house (and Nadiana later joined us) to continue to drink wine and have a fun night (or so I thought, but really they were all just stalling while everyone got things ready for the event back home)

When I finally made it home, I was greeted by a bunch of people who’d witnessed the struggle that college was for me and I’m not gonna lie I teared a lil bit (I’m lying I cried my a** off)

BTW: Special shoutouts to my mom, my sister-in-law Stephanie and my bestfriend Natasha for going out their way and throwing me this lavish poppin’ a** party! I didn’t see it coming but I absolutely enjoyed it and it wouldn’t have been the same without y’all!

Here are a couple pictures from that epic night…

Special Shoutout to my fams who went above and beyond to make this happen in under 5 hrs

Hey y’all

Today I’ll briefly mention:

The MET

Met Museum by Simon Fieldhouse

Open Hours

Sunday–Thursday: 10 AM–5:30 PM
Friday and Saturday: 10 AM–9 PM

How To Get There:

Walking to 1000 5th Ave, NY, NY 10028

Driving to 1000 5th Ave, NY, NY 10028

Buses M1, M2, M3, M4, M79, M86, SBS

Trains 4, 5, 6 to 86th St Station

I actually went to the Metropolitan Museum of Art on a college assignment back in 2016. At first I wasn’t really into it, (’cause I wasn’t really into doing HW in such a beautiful spot) but then I stepped inside and was awed.

First off, their freaking outdoor fountains rise and fall in sync like where they do that at! (Only in Vegas probably near them fancy hotels)

Then, getting in is free so that’s a plus! (They actually suggest you give a donation so if you have a couple dollars or some change you should be good)

The good thing is that they’re open everyday so you can go on your lunch break (if you work near) or on your off days (if you’re not too tired from slaving) so there’s no excuse to not see this beautiful beaux-arts historic landmark.

Then they have a bunch of different exhibits that you probably wont get to in a day, but that can serve as your excuse to go back! (Plus this is where the MET Gala is held which is an event I cant get in to yet but I ain’t done yet so there’s still hope)

Going to the MET was one of the best museum experiences I’ve ever had because even when I was inside I felt like I was outside (in part because they use a lot of skylight in their massive open areas)

BTW: Here’s a guide to the first floor as well as a couple pics of me the last time I visited.
